Our picks, pick boxes and capos are made to be used every day. A little care keeps the wood looking warm and the engraving crisp for years.
Wooden guitar picks
- Keep them dry. Wipe your pick with a soft dry cloth after playing to remove sweat and oils.
- Avoid heat and sun. Don't leave picks in a hot car or on a sunny windowsill, as wood can dry out.
- Store them safely. Keep picks in a pick box rather than loose with keys or coins.
- Smooth a worn tip. Wooden picks wear gradually at the tip. A light rub with fine sandpaper (around 400 grit) restores a smooth edge.
- Refresh the wood. If a pick starts to look dry, a tiny drop of food-safe wood oil, wiped off after a few minutes, brings back its colour.
Wooden pick boxes
- Dust with a soft dry cloth; avoid sprays, water and household cleaners.
- Keep boxes away from radiators and direct sunlight to prevent the wood drying or fading.
- Open and close hinged lids gently; the magnets will hold them shut.
Capos
- Remove your capo from the neck when you're not playing, to protect the springs and the guitar's finish.
- Wipe the rubber pads occasionally with a dry cloth so they grip evenly.
- Store your capo on the headstock or in your case pocket.
Engraving
Laser engraving is burned into the surface, so it won't rub off with normal use. Natural wood can darken slightly over time, which gives each piece its own character.
